I am good at drawing. I express myself when I draw. I think that if people don't let me draw I would be very depressed.

Chapter 1
1. What problems or conflicts are presented in chapter one? Tao needing to find a rabbit is an obvious one; identify at least two more.
2. Predict the resolution of each conflict.
Tao was not allowed to draw. Some people didn't like Tao because he had a short leg. i think that Tao will become a great person or maybe become a great hunter and the people that don't like him will. I also think he will be able to draw because he might become a chosen one.
Chapter 2
What two important events happen in this chapter?
He met a wolf-dog and helped him by taking out something that was stuck on his mouth, then the second event was the dream he had about the cave and him painting in it.

1. What do Tao and Ram learn to do together?
Tao and Ram learn to hunt together.
2. What decision does Tao tell Volt?
The decision that Tao told volt is that Tao would hunt by himself.
3. Look at Tao's decisions and actions from Volt's perspective. Pretend you are Volt. Write a first person paragraph explaining how you feel.
I can't believe that the boy tao is trying to hunt by himself. I bet that he won't survive one day with out me and the hunters. let'sjst give him a try. if he comes with food for us then it will be fine, job for the hunters.

Tao's mother (Verda) was a very wise person. She was also very brave, specially when people wanted to take Tao away. she fighted like a lion to protect her child. She was a very good mother.

He tried to draw a horse and also Ram the wolf-dog.
2. Which is easier for him and why?
Drawing Ram was easier for him because he just had to copy Ram's shadow that was on the cave wall already, and for the horse he had to draw it by memory.

Graybeard realizes that Tao broke two taboos that were going to the slough and hunting with a wolf-dog
2. Which taboo doesn't he know about yet?
The taboo that Graybeard doesn't know about yet is that Tao draws on cave walls.
3. Graybeard describes Volt differently than we have. What aspects of Volt's character is Graybeard acknowledging?
The aspects that Graybear is acknowledging about Volt are that he is a good man but he thinks about evil spirits to much.

I think that it is like totally unfair thatdrawing is a taboo. I bet that lots of people backthen wanted to draw but couldn't. even though it is very unfair I agree with Graybeard because, it is like a law and you have to follow the laws.

An important theme in this novel is that people should follow their dreams and do what they believe is right, even if they don't follow their society's expected ways.
The author examines this theme in a stone age setting. Imagine a similar situation today.

What this tells me about Graybeard is that he is very smart and generous.

I think that graybeard is a very good teacher because he is patient and tries to make Tao understand well.

some of the ingredients sued to paint were fish, oil animal fat, eggs, and white rock. The one that surprised me the most was the eggs.
2. Why is Tao afraid at the end of the chapter?
Tao was afraid at the end of the period because he thought graybeard was going to die.

1. Even if Ram had succeeded in hunting the deer, do you think it was a god idea of Tao's to "show off" his dog's ability to hunt? Explain.
I think it wasn't a very good idea because Volt can get very mad and kill him.

I think that Ram won't want to go back with Tao because Tao always treats him bad.

when I read this chapter I was so surprised because Volt is Tao's father even though I already predicted it. I can'tbelive it, all of the time that Volt treated Tao very baf maybe it was because Tao had a very bad foot.
